The constituent assembly of India formally adopted the constitution of India on November 26, 1949. However, it came into force on January 26, 1950. Since then India celebrates Republic Day on January 26. Republic Day is one of the prominent National festivals celebrated every year with utmost zeal and enthusiasm.
Schools too celebrate this significant day by hoisting school assemblies and creating a sense of pride of being Indians in the young and secular minds.
To mark this historical day, Students of grade IX of Prudence School, Ashok Vihar too embraced the essence of Republic Day by hoisting a special assembly on 23rd January 2020 on the theme,'Republic Day of India.' The assembly embarked with the morning prayer and inspiring thought of the day along with the daily news.
Thereafter, an enlightening and motivational speech was delivered by the students imbibing the values. Nevertheless, all this was followed by a scintillating and enthralling cultural dance performance to make the assembly even frolic and joyous. With all this, there was an air of patriotism and love for the country on every young and fervid mind.
