"Fitness is not a destination It is a way of life!"
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the nation to participate in 'Fit India Week' programme during his 59th edition of 'Mann Ki Baat', Prudence School Ashok Vihar embraced this with full zeal and passion. This endeavour by Central Board of Secondary Education, to bring a shift in behaviour from 'passive screen time' to 'active field time' is really a commendable initiative. Students as well as teachers geared up together, to wholeheartedly and enthusiastically participate in it. The 'Fit India' initiative aimed to make fitness a part of every individual's life be it a child or an adult so that it becomes a mass movement.
There were a range of activities planned for the week. The week kick-started with 'Yoga for all' and fun fitness activities like dance in the morning assembly. An interesting assembly on 'Healthy and Junk Food' was also conducted by students.
This was followed by free hand exercises, meditation and lecture on Sports and fitness on Day 2.
The Collage Making Activity on the theme 'Fit Body-Fit Mind-Fit Environment' was the highlight of Day 3, where students let loose their creative instincts.
The Oral Hygiene Workshop on Day 4 for students focussed on the importance of hygiene in our life for an improved health.
Day 5 included fitness and nutrition activities for students and staff.
All in all, the energetic week kicked up everyone's spirits and not only charged up the students but also the teachers to make fitness their 'favourite habit'.
